New People is an initiative of the Comboni missionaries who have a solid experience working in the field of the media for evangelization and missionary promotion purposes. The inspiration comes from their founder, an Italian Catholic priest, St. Daniel Comboni (1831-1881). He saw the media as powerful tool for evangelization and missionary promotion. In 1872, he started a magazine Nigrizia in Italy. Since 1987, New People has continued St Daniel Comboni’s legacy.

Since its inception in 1987, New People strives to assist in the training of the would be media practitioners in Africa.
